Now that you are truly focused on your health and willing to make change I can provide you with some simple cost effective ways to restore and strengthen your health. First you must understand some basic chemistry or alkaline/acid balance. During the metabolism or breakdown of different foods there remains a residue which can be net acid or alkaline to the body. The biggest acid former is protein.
Excessive amounts of protein strain the kidneys and the Alkaline reserves of the body. Minerals such as calcium, magnesium, chromium, vanadium, manganese are taken from their normal functions to nuetralize the acid. These minerals have very specific actions in the body. Magnesium is active in thousands of enzymes, calcium for bones, chromium and vanadium for sugar metabolism, manganese for ligament strength.
It is critical to note that the PH or relative acid / alkaline levels in the blood must be maintained at all cost. In fact it is a very narrow range. When the body is placed in a net acid load it uses minerals to "buffer" or neutralize this acid to maintain or alkalize the chemistry of the body. Quite simply if the body did not do this you would die instantly. So back to the chemistry....By donating these "buffering minerals" such as calcium, magnesium, chromium, vanadium, manganese the body accomplishes its short term goal. Pull out a two inch strip of PH Paper and check you first morning PH. Ideal is 6.8 to 7.2. The Greener the better. This is the most cost effective way to monitor your true overall health. To raise your PH decrease protein consumption, increase water, take minerals before bedtime
